Grew up in St. James, New York. Graduated from New York University in 2009 with a degree in psychology. Started with improv and stand-up in New York City. Co-created and starred in the Comedy Central series “Broad City” with Abbi Jacobson. The show was based on their web series and received critical acclaim. Appeared in films like “Rough Night” and “False Positive.” Released a stand-up special, “The Planet Is Burning,” in 2020. Awards: Won a Tony Award in 2022 for producing the Broadway show “A Strange Loop.” Founded Generator Collective in 2016 to promote female election candidates and political participation. Married David Rooklin in 2017. Has one child, born in July 2021.
